Preparing students for a shipboard career in the housekeeping profession, this interactive program combines the necessary hospitality English language skills with theoretical classroom and practical “hands on” skills sessions. Subjects include: History & Current State of the Fast-Paced, Ever Growing Cruise Industry; Occupational Safety; United States Public Health Procedures & Requirements; and Sensitivity When Interacting with Disabled Guests. Practical Skills sessions include: How to Properly Clean and Prepare Guests Staterooms; How to Properly Clean High Traffic Public Areas; Proper Use of Cleaning Chemicals and Equipment; and much more.
Once completed, students have the necessary knowledge and skills to embark on a shipboard housekeeping career. Included in the program is a two-day interview skills seminar in which students are involved in mock interviews and are able to watch themselves on video to sharpen their interviewing skills.
